In this paper, an index based on customer perspective is proposed for evaluatingtransit service quality. The index, named Heterogeneous Customer Satisfaction Index,is inspired by the traditional Customer Satisfaction Index, but takes into account theheterogeneity among the user judgments about the different service aspects. Theindex allows service quality to be monitored, the causes generating customer satisfaction/dissatisfaction to be identified, and the strategies for improving the servicequality to be defined. The proposed methodologies show some advantages comparedto the others adopted for measuring service quality, because it can be easily appliedby the transit operators.
Nella nota è proposto il calcolo di un indicatore per la misura della qualità dei servizi di trasporto collettivo basato sulla percezione degli utenti sul servizio da essi utilizzato. L’indicatore, indicato come Heterogeneous Customer Satisfaction Index, si ispira al tradizionale indicatore noto come Customer Satisfaction Index, ma a differenza di quest’ultimo tiene conto dell’eterogeneità che esiste tra i giudizi degli utenti sui differenti aspetti del servizio. L’indicatore proposto consente di monitorare la qualità dei servizi e di definire le strategie per il miglioramento della qualità dei servizi offerti.
