Abstract
Though only a six-line text, the panegiric by Daniele Cortese (1638), either authentic or possibly translated from Italian, in memory of the French scholar and scientist Nicolaus Fabricius de Peiresc, contains slices of precious historical and cultural information on 17th century cultural life. The text, though of minor importance to Albanian Language and culture, was first critically commented on and edited by Dhimitër Shuteriqi in 1958. Sixty years on, the present paper offers a new commentary in the light of the most recent developments of Albanian philology and of Italo-Albanian linguistics and literary history.File in questo prodotto:
