This paper describes the implementation of a Test Lab purposely designed for the trial and validation of different energy flow management methods to be applied in Energy and Comfort Management Systems for Smart Homes and Smart Buildings. The Test Lab is located in a student apartment within the Campus of the University of Calabria. It represents the nucleus of a larger testing system addressed to the experimentation of microgrids. Some preliminary experiments have been performed to validate the operation and the effectiveness of the implemented system.
