The paper briefly re-examines Heraclitus’ frs. 84-85 Marcovich (= DK 22 B 32 and 41). It argues that the sequence of these fragments as proposed by Miroslav Marcovich can be confirmed by philosophical considerations on Heraclitus’ theology. The wisdom of the Heraclitean God is strictly connected to his uniqueness and power: qualities that, from God’s perspective, oveshadow the semantic problem of his name (Zeus). As already attested for Xenophanes’ theology, in Heraclitus the ‘divine’ perspective on God and the Cosmos is totally different from the ‘human’ one: the latter is narrow and tends to see reality in a partial manner, the former is boundless and holistic.
