Abstract
The author deals with the linguistic analysis of some Albanian lexemes used in Italy related to wheat-based food, including kulaç, kravele, bukëvale, which are the outcome of the contacts that are registered especially in the common lexicon of food - food and rituals between languages of the common Italian-Balkan area. Thus leading us to a series of Slavic, Greek and Turkish loan words which are found in the Arbëreshe spoken in Italy. Of particular importance is the ritual food kulaç that can be found today not only in the native Balkan Albanian variety “imported” in Italy since the fifteenth century by arbëreshë emigrants, but also in the languages that have been and are in close contact with the arbërishtja, once in the Balkan, and today in the Italian peninsula.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
