Poster presentations based on the students’ field of study in tertiary level English language modules of a degree course primarily taught in another language can prove to be a useful and effective task. This article reports on a two-year project in a southern Italian university to investigate the effectiveness of poster presentations in ESP classes, with special attention to the iterative nature of the task. Questionnaires were administered to students to elicit their perceptions of the tasks they were involved in. The project would seem to suggest that students designing, producing and presenting their posters is perceived as a motivating way for them to practice their English oral and interactive skills while also leaning a practical, transferable soft-skill.

Abstract
Poster presentations based on the students’ field of study in tertiary level English language modules of a degree course primarily taught in another language can prove to be a useful and effective task. This article reports on a two-year project in a southern Italian university to investigate the effectiveness of poster presentations in ESP classes, with special attention to the iterative nature of the task. Questionnaires were administered to students to elicit their perceptions of the tasks they were involved in. The project would seem to suggest that students designing, producing and presenting their posters is perceived as a motivating way for them to practice their English oral and interactive skills while also leaning a practical, transferable soft-skill.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
