This study provides a systematic review of the literature on the relationship between artificial intelligence and justice, examining the opportunities and challenges associated with technological innovation in judicial systems. Based on the PRISMA methodology and an analysis of 140 scientific publications, the research identifies three main areas of investigation: predictive justice, human–machine collaboration, and robot judges. Particular attention is devoted to the potential of artificial intelligence to improve judicial efficiency, legal research, and access to justice, alongside the risks of algorithmic bias, lack of transparency, and diminished human oversight. Within the emerging Justice 5.0 paradigm, the study advocates a human-centred approach to technological innovation, emphasizing the protection of fundamental rights, judicial independence, and the principles of fairness and due process.
